The Importance of True Grit

Grit: courage and resolve; strength of character — the Oxford Pocket Dictionary of Common English
True Grit: sometimes all that gets you through the day…. also, a novel, two movies, and a Glen Campbell album
I am devoting this post to all the talented people in the world waiting for their lucky break, which, as it turns out, might involve “true grit” more than any talent or luck you toss out there —- but hey, I think we all suspected that anyway.
Jonah Lehrer wrote in Wired magazine recently:
“Not surprisingly, those with grit are more single-minded about their goals – they tend to get obsessed with certain activities – and also more likely to persist in the face of struggle and failure. Woody Allen famously declared that “Eighty percent of success is showing up”. Grit is what allows you to show up again and again.”
It’s a great article on “true grit” all creative and talented people should read it and maybe if your goal is to find romance, listen to the song as well –
Johnny Cash present Glen Campbell in this clip, if you’re a film buff you’ll see the coolness in that — HINT

True grit, balls of steel, fearlessness… they are required in art and in love.
Congratulations on getting the site going!
