Mostly documentary filmmaking involves inexpensive hotel rooms and meals on the go. What an unexpected and joyous surprise when one of the subjects in my documentary, “The Art of Memories,” offered up a bounty of fresh vegetables from his garden. Sculptor Noah Savett surprised both Emon and I when he took us behind his metal fabrication business and picked a variety of produce I swear would rival any specialty grocery.
As I washed each vegetable meticulously, I piled them on top of each other on the counter. Emon, of course, couldn’t resist taking some photographs. I haven’t had a garden of my own in a long time but I am now once again spoiled for the taste of sweet fresh garlic and delicious tender kale. I am really looking forward to the beets. I’ve already sauteed the beet greens early today and they were fabulous. Thank you, Noah!
